Feature Story-January 2002
King Biscuit Blues Festival-cont.

Text and photos Clancy Dunigan

Guitar Shorty

Bobby Rush closed the festival with a crowd-pleasing Saturday night show. Rush was accompanied by 2 bass guitars, 6 dancers, Paul Brown on organ, and thousands of blues lovers dancing and cheering him on. For over an hour, Bobby Rush sang and danced us through the gauntlet of emotions. A survivor of a near fatal auto accident, he set the healing power of music loose that night. Finally, Bubba Sullivan (Bubba's Blues Corner) received a last embrace from Bobby Rush, bade us all goodnight, and invited us back for next year's KBBF. See you there-with the legends, the BBQ, and the Blues. For more info on KBBF go to www.kingbiscuitbluesfestival. King Biscuit interviews will be aired on KSER-FM 90.7 during, Clancy's Bar & Grill Thursdays, 8-10pm.
