Award-winning musician, writer, producer, and music historian Taj Mahal will again share his special renderings with Seattle during his annual Thanksgiving series at Dimitriou's Jazz Alley.

Though known to blues fans for his brilliant musical stylings and virtuosity on both National Steel and Dobro guitars, Taj's talent runs runs much deeper than that. Taj Mahal is actually a master of more than 20 instruments, with musical influences that range from jazz and gospel, to folk, reggae, and zydeco.

Along with a voice that ranges from gutbucket blues to melodic and soothing, his is a voice with multiple personalities. Taj interprets many musical regions including the Caribbean, West Africa, southern states, and inner cities. Although he often tours with a band, Taj Mahal's solo series at Jazz Alley offers a much more intimate and up-close look at this musical legend. To see a Taj Mahal solo performance is a rare and special opportunity to experience a true cross-section of American music at its best.

This annual highlight of the fall music scene runs from Nov. 20-25, with the exception of Thanksgiving ( 11/22). Set Times for Tue. and Wed. are 8 and 10pm, Fri. and Sat.: 8:30 and 10:30pm, Sun.: 6:30pm and 8:30pm. Advance tickets are required.
